Українські художниці Юлія Ґвілім і Женя Полосіна здобули міжнародне визнання на World Illustration Awards 2025 — одній із найпрестижніших світових премій у галузі ілюстрації. Результати конкурсу оприлюднила Британська асоціація ілюстраторів. Цьогоріч на конкурс надійшло понад 4 700 робіт з усього світу. До короткого списку журі увійшли 200 проєктів, серед яких — роботи двох українських ілюстраторок, відзначені почесною відзнакою Highly Commended. Женю Полосіну нагородили за ілюстрацію до обкладинки збірки оповідань Герберта Джорджа Веллса «Країна сліпих» (видавництво «Ще одну сторінку») у категорії «Обкладинки книг». Юлія Ґвілім отримала відзнаку за ілюстрації до дитячої книжки «Кряк!», що вийшла у «Видавництві Старого Лева», у категорії «Дитяча книжкова ілюстрація». World Illustration Awards є однією з ключових міжнародних нагород у сфері візуального мистецтва, заснованою Британською асоціацією ілюстраторів у співпраці з Directory of Illustration. Конкурс ілюстрації за участі міжнародного журі проводять із 1976 року, а сучасний формат премії розвивається з 2015-го. Церемонія 2025 року стала десятою в історії нагороди у цьому форматі. Премія зосереджується на підтримці та просуванні ілюстрації на міжнародному рівні, об’єднуючи як професійних митців, так і нові імена. Нагороди присуджують у двох групах — New Talent та Professional, у десяти категоріях. До участі приймають як замовні, так і незалежні роботи, створені протягом року до дедлайну подачі заявок. Присутність українських митців у конкурсі залишається помітною. Цього року до довгого списку також увійшли ще п’ять ілюстраторок з України та одна художниця українського походження. Ukrainian illustrators recognised at the World Illustration Awards 2025
Ukrainian artists Yuliia Gvilim and Zhenia Polosina have received international recognition at the World Illustration Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious global prizes in the field of illustration. The results of the competition were announced by the British Association of Illustrators. This year, more than 4,700 works from around the world were submitted to the competition. The jury selected 200 projects for the shortlist, including works by two Ukrainian illustrators, which received the Highly Commended distinction. Zhenia Polosina was recognised for her illustration for the cover of the short story collection The Country of the Blind by H. G. Wells, published by the Ukrainian publishing house Shche Odu Storinku. The work was awarded in the Book Covers category. Yuliia Gvilim received a distinction for her illustrations for the children’s book Quack!, published by The Old Lion Publishing House, in the Children’s Book Illustration category. The World Illustration Awards are one of the key international honours in the field of visual art. The prize was established by the British Association of Illustrators in collaboration with the Directory of Illustration. Illustration competitions with an international jury have been held since 1976, while the World Illustration Awards in their current format have been developed since 2015. The 2025 ceremony marked the tenth edition of the awards in this format. The awards focus on supporting and promoting illustration at an international level, bringing together established professionals and emerging talent. Prizes are awarded in two groups, New Talent and Professional, across ten categories. Both commissioned and self-initiated works created within the year preceding the submission deadline are eligible. Ukrainian artists continue to have a strong presence at the World Illustration Awards. This year, the longlist also included five more illustrators from Ukraine and one artist of Ukrainian origin.
