У Швеції триває підготовка до оголошення лауреата найпрестижнішої у світі нагороди в галузі дитячої та юнацької літератури — Меморіальної премії Астрід Ліндгрен (Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award). Цього року на премію висунуто 263 кандидати з 74 країн світу, серед яких — 78 нових імен. Вперше в історії Україну на премії представляє Андрій Кокотюха — відомий письменник, сценарист і автор пригодницьких книжок для дітей та підлітків. Його кандидатуру висунула Українська національна секція IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). У попередні роки до списку номінантів уже потрапляли українські автори Сашко Дерманський, Іван Андрусяк та Галина Вдовиченко. Меморіальна премія Астрід Ліндгрен була заснована у 2002 році шведським урядом на вшанування пам’яті видатної письменниці, авторки «Пеппі Довгапанчохи». Її мета — утвердження права кожної дитини на чудові історії. Нагорода щорічно присуджується письменникам, ілюстраторам, оповідачам або організаціям, що популяризують читання серед дітей. Розмір премії становить 5 мільйонів шведських крон (понад 500 тисяч доларів США), що робить її найбільшою у світі відзнакою у сфері дитячої літератури. Лауреата обирає експертне журі з дванадцяти членів, а церемонія вручення традиційно відбувається у Стокгольмі за участі Її Королівської Високості кронпринцеси Вікторії. Ім’я лауреата буде оголошено 14 квітня 2026 року.
Ukrainian writer Andriy Kokotukha nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for the first time
Preparations are underway in Sweden for the announcement of the laureate of the world’s most prestigious award in the field of children’s and young adult literature — the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA). This year, 263 candidates from 74 countries have been nominated, including 78 newcomers. For the first time in history, Ukraine is represented by Andriy Kokotukha — a renowned writer, screenwriter, and author of adventure books for children and teenagers. His nomination was submitted by the Ukrainian National Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). In previous years, Ukrainian authors such as Sashko Dermanskyi, Ivan Andrusyak, and Halyna Vdovychenko were also among the nominees. The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was established in 2002 by the Swedish government to honor the memory of the legendary author of Pippi Longstocking. Its purpose is to affirm every child’s right to great stories. The award is presented annually to writers, illustrators, storytellers, or organizations that promote reading among children. With a prize sum of 5 million Swedish kronor (over 500,000 USD), it is the largest award of its kind in the world of children’s literature. The laureate is selected by a twelve-member expert jury, and the award ceremony traditionally takes place in Stockholm in the presence of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria. The name of the 2026 laureate will be announced on April 14, 2026.
