Національні збори Словенії проголосували за визнання Палестини як «незалежної і суверенної держави»

За проєкт рішення уряду Словенії про визнання Палестинської держави проголосували 52 з 53 присутніх депутатів парламенту.

Опозиційна Словенська демократична партія (SNS) планувала завадити цьому, запропонувавши консультативний референдум.

Однак, урядова коаліція, спираючись на регламент, відхилила цю пропозицію та проголосувала за визнання Палестини того ж дня.

За підсумками голосування Словенія стала 147-м членом ООН, який визнав Палестину.

The draft decision of the Slovenian government to recognize the Palestinian state was voted for by 52 out of 53 members of the parliament present.

The opposition Slovenian Democratic Party (SNS) planned to prevent this by proposing a consultative referendum.

However, the government coalition, relying on the rules of procedure, rejected this proposal and voted to recognize Palestine on the same day.

As a result of the vote, Slovenia became the 147th UN member to recognize Palestine.
