Водночас провідні нідерландські видання охарактеризували її як ультраправу й ксенофобську, застерігаючи, що успіх треку є симптомом глибших суспільних напружень навколо теми міграції. У відповідь на популярність композиції феміністичні та громадські рухи запустили «чартове протистояння», закликаючи слухачів підтримати альтернативні пісні з проінклюзивним меседжем. У результаті контркампанія зуміла заблокувати вихід «AZC» на перше місце в Spotify Нідерландів. Паралельно правозахисна організація VluchtelingenWerk Nederland створила сатирично-позитивну відповідь у формі карнавальної пісні, що прославляла культурне різноманіття країни. Попри те, що стримінгова платформа Spotify заявила про відсутність формальних порушень правил, 11 листопада 2025 року трек було видалено з усіх сервісів за рішенням дистриб’ютора. In the Netherlands, Spotify Removed the First Viral AI-Created Hit for Violating Migrants’ Rights
A major cultural scandal has erupted around the song “Wij zeggen nee, nee, nee, tegen een AZC” (“We Say No, No, No to an Asylum Seeker Center”), created under the pseudonym JW “Broken Veteran” using artificial intelligence. The track, directed against the opening of new refugee reception centers, went viral within weeks, climbing national music charts while simultaneously provoking sharp criticism from media outlets, cultural figures, and human rights organizations. The author of the song is a veteran from Rotterdam who claims to have served in the war in Afghanistan and to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. He had previously created hundreds of AI-generated compositions on social and political themes. While in the spring of 2025 his lyrics focused on personal experience and mental health, by the summer his rhetoric had taken on a distinctly anti-immigration and provocative tone. In November, the song became one of the most-streamed tracks in the country, surpassed only by international pop hits. At the same time, leading Dutch media described it as far-right and xenophobic, warning that the track’s success reflected deeper societal tensions surrounding migration. In response to the song’s popularity, feminist and civic movements launched a “chart battle,” urging listeners to support alternative songs with pro-inclusive messages. As a result, the counter-campaign succeeded in blocking “AZC” from reaching number one on Dutch Spotify. In parallel, the human rights organization VluchtelingenWerk Nederland released a satirical and positive-response carnival song celebrating the cultural diversity of the country. Despite Spotify stating that the track did not formally violate its rules, on November 11, 2025, the song was removed from all platforms by decision of the distributor. By that time, it had accumulated more than 1.5 million streams. Following a wave of threats and public pressure, the author announced that he would stop producing protest music.
